A bunch of buddies decided tobring a recorder to this show.

Funny group having a good time.They are all over this recording,

but rather than detract it adds tothe ambiance. Seems like one of the

gang must have said before theshow that Black and Blue

(the opener) would be betterand his pals mock him during the

opening. They also keep saying how this night was better than the previous night. "You recorded history!" one of the group saus after "Dream On." Anyway, it's a fun listen.

Pittsburgh band Diamond Reo("Ain't That Peculiar") opened the

show, their first ever publicperformance. Aerosmith played

second - they arrived via helicopterduring Diamond Reo's set and landed

on the baseball field across the streefrom the bandshell.  When their

helicopter flew over the crowd thereceived more applause than

Diamond Reo did at any point duringtheir set.Brownsville Station was the

headliner.  I met Cub Koda fromBrownsville in 1980 and he

remembered playing this show –"Yeah, Aerosmith opened for us and

we blew them off the stage!" was hiscomment, not exactly how I remembered it.

After the band took the fall off theyemerge on tour at the end of the year

with an interesting setlist, packed withgoodies from the past.  The band pulls

out  “S.O.S (Too Bad)” for the first timesince 1979.  “Movin' Out” re-appears,

the first tine since 1974.  “Adam's Apple” then gets its first live airing since 1977 and “Walkin' The Dog" for the fris timesince 1980. The band also works up a live version of Perry's “Let The Music Do The Talking” with original lyrics, which would be later re-written for the “Done With Mirrors” album. This version sound a little tepid by comparison, but a nice addition to the changing setlist. The band also conjures up the first “Seasons of Wither” since 1980.  Weird “Star Wars-like” theramin effect during “Sweet Emotion” and end with "Rats in the Cellar." Cool gig!
