Aerosmith had a run of incidents in
Philly in the late 1970s. On 10-9-77
the band had a M-80 explosive
chucked at them as they headed back
to the stage for an encore. Then on
11-24-78 something threw a bottle
that ended up hitting Tyler in the face.
The band stayed away from Philly until this show on Valentine's Day 1983. The download starts with Tyler talking about the problems in Philly. Apparently fans put signs up begging the band to come back to teh city. Oddly they would return for a 2nd show two weeks later. Sound is clear here, but a bit distant here, altho oddly the drums are quite prominent.

Comments :
   Very good recording. Brad Whitford
does not perform with the band for
this concert. It is understood he
returned to USA due to illness of his
   father. David Minehan
   (ex-Neighborhoods) stood in for Brad
for at this concert . Brad had produced the 1st album by Boston power pop combo, Neighborhoods in 1989. The recording comes with the full Yeatsie Girls' You Suck at the start.

h, the old days of Aero on the Rock
In A Hard Place tour.Gotta love
it...maybe at their most drugged out
with Crespo and Dufay helping hold it
together just barely and so far
removed from what the band
morphed into today. Not a great
recording here, but not that bad
either. Captures the vibe of the time,
and make no mistake this is a great
rock and roll show before corporate
America really discovered it and littered the
nation with their suburban amphitheaters and $250 tickets. Tape opens
with the MC talking about an upcoming Rush show and there is a funny
reaction my a crowd member.  Kramer does a litte funky hit of cowbell
(?) during the intro of  Three Mile Smile that I've never heard before
while Tyler follows with a scat type thing, kinda cool....
welcome back to 1983!
