interesting aborted Aerosmith show I acquired in the early 1980s.
Aerosmith had played Philly Oct. 9, 1977 and as they returned to
the stage for an encore, someone chucked an M-80 at the band.
The firework exploded, gashing Joe Perry's arm. The band played
another show in Philly Dec. 19, 1977 without incident. The band came
back for this show on November 25, 1978. From the get go things are flying on
stage, including a shoe. Tyler asks the crowd to instead throw
"bras and joints" and the show continues until the beginning of "Sight For Sore Eyes" when someone from the City of Brotherly Love throws a bottle at the stage, hitting Steve Tyler right in the face. I believe it's Joey Kramer who grabs the mic and admonishes the crowd. We then get a stage annoucement that the band will not come back on, as the Philly crowd groans. The tape shuts off, but we have a local radio dj talk about what went down. Aerosmith had bad feelings about Philly apparently and did not return until February 1983,with Rick Dufay and Jimmy Crespo on guitars when the band did two shows 14 days apart that month.
